Both offer more safety and grip. The advantage of driving gloves with whole fingers is that they keep you warmer. This is especially important when driving open or if you are not just a summer driver. The disadvantage of long-fingered gloves, however, is their somewhat limited dexterity, e.g. when turning the ignition key, nibbling or even stroking the passenger. If this is important to you and you don't drive with the car roof open all the time, you should rather opt for half-finger car driving gloves.
